MEL Chemicals is based in the UK and services the European and Far East markets excluding Japan, MEI in the USA has been supplying North and South American markets since 1974 whilst Nikkei-MEL is the focus of zirconium production in Japan. Products
Catalysts & Sorbents: Many advanced catalyst formulations can benefit from zirconium chemistry. Reactions as diverse as automotive emissions control, pharmaceuticals, VOC abatement, stationary emissions abatement and petrochemicals / refining are all catalysed by zirconium oxide. We have Patents pending for a range of products designed to capture and remove carbon dioxide.
Paper Coatings: For speed of cure, effectiveness, runability and performance as well as water resistance and strength, the MEL Chemicals insolubilisers used in pigmented paper and paperboard coatings deliver the highest quality print performance.
Engineering Ceramics: The use of zirconium oxides in technical ceramics is well recognised for its electrical, wear and heat-resistant properties. MEL Chemicals´ products are vital ingredients in a huge range of industrial and domestic products from jet engines to capacitors to piezo-electrics.
